Adjusting the doorbell button settings according to your preference can easily be done in-App.
- Open your doorbell camera settings.
You can do this by tapping the name of your doorbell from your Kangaroo App's homescreen. - Scroll down and look for "Chiming Sound"
- Locate "Sound" at the top of the screen and toggle on
If you wish for your Chime to sound when someone rings the Doorbell button, turn this settings on. Otherwise, you can also disable this feature. - Locate the "Tones" section directly below and select a tone.
This tone will sound when someone rings your doorbell. There's "Kan-ga-roo" and "Ding-Dong". - Look for "Volume" and slide to adjust your desired Chime volume.
"Low", "Medium", and "High" are the options for the volume. Make sure to choose the loudest so you won't miss anyone who presses your doorbell button. - Locate "Sounds From" at the bottom of the screen and choose which devices you would like the sound to come from.
This applies if you have more than one Kangaroo Chime or both a Kangaroo Chime and a Kangaroo Siren + Keypad.
If you are not getting sounds from either your Chime or a paired Siren + Keypad even with all these settings enabled, kindly contact us.

Doorbell batteries must be either alkaline…or even better ultra alkaline…. Or the very best lithium…… don't buy the cheapo “”heavy duy “”" batteries…. Those are not alkaline…You get what you pay for with those and that's not much. Lithium batteries can withstand extreme heat and cold. Alkaline batteries perform pretty good outside but not as good as lithium does and lithium last 6X longer than alkaline and ultra alkaline. The Dollar Tree alkaline and ultra alkaline batteries are actually quite well tests show they compare just as good as standard Energizer and Duracell standard batteries
All electronic devices should always have at least alkaline.
I'm pretty sure the directions for the kangaroo say to use at least alkaline batteries as most all electronic devices say that.
Wow if you just got the kangaroo doorbell and happened to read the comments here you would most definitely guess you just bought junk lol. Well id say 99% of the problems these people are having are user error. The doorbell is very simple to setup and the settings are simple to use once it is setup. Further more as far as the batteries go the worst batteries I've used are rechargeable ones that I have and they wear down quicker then dollar store batteries and they still last a couple months. Use some Duracell platinum and you won't have to change em for a few months. Lol not sure what made everyone so confused about how it works but I never read no instructions and was pretty stoned when installed it and set the app up to my preferences and must say it works like a charm. My wife and I have used it for over a year now with no problems. I used the free version for probably 6 months before I got the cheapest paid version. Wanted to be able to download the videos and send them to other people if I wanted to. All in all for the price which btw is way cheaper then most video doorbells on the market. It works great. Id say as long as you made it past the 2nd grade you shouldn't have any issues setting it up and using it.
Go into settings and set it to average if you don't want to pick up everything 😉
If all people work hard to do is to figure out how to get past security then what's the purpose of having one. But since yall add all the right info for people to know then people with a second grade education knows that if you have problems with your security just read your comments because y'all reveal everything. It don't take a genius to know that.
I received mine second hand because the previous owner said it didn't work. I knew she was wrong. I didn't even have the original instructions. Install and setup were super simple . With quality batteries it works perfectly. The app is easy to understand and I'm very happy with it . Now my friend is jealous and is buying another one. 😆 👍
